Andrew Nicholson Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation on Magic Forward

Working To Find A Trade Partner

Thursday, Feb. 12

Marc Stein of ESPN reports the Magic have made it clear Nicholson is available if the right offer comes along before the Feb. 19 deadline:

He also adds the front office is working with the power forward's agent to find him a new home:

The Magic invested the 19th overall pick in Nicholson three years ago. He started 28 games as a rookie, but his playing time has faded ever since and his other numbers have followed suit. Getting a fresh start elsewhere is probably the best option for him.

Whether Orlando will be able to find a interested team is unclear. The St. Bonaventure product came into the league as a promising prospect with the ability to stretch a defense by knocking down mid-range shots. He's been unable to turn his raw talent into NBA production, though.

If the Magic do find a trade partner, it's hard to imagine them getting much in return. The other team would just be taking a chance they can find a role for Nicholson where he could excel. It's something that hasn't happened in Orlando.
