Bernard Hopkins Challenges 'Coward' Carl Froch to Fight
Carl Froch is a "coward" according to American boxing legend Bernard Hopkins, who has challenged the WBA super-middleweight champion to a fight in any location he sees fit.
The Cobra recently suggested a bout with Hopkins is a "lose-lose situation" from his point of view, reported by Sky Sports. This came after Froch was forced to pull out of a showdown with Julio Chavez Jr. Hopkins—who isn't afraid to face Froch in his Nottingham backyard—hasn't taken kindly to the comment, per Sky Sports:
"You should put all the pressure on that coward that calls himself one of the greatest European fighters of all time. That is not true, that’s an insult to Joe Calzaghe, and let me tell you something —that's an insult to any great fighter that has come out of the UK from the past and the present.
"

Froch is craving a bout in Las Vegas as he approaches the latter stages of his career. Hopkins is ready to clash anytime, any place, telling Sky Sports: "We can do it in Vegas, let's get our people together and talk. Or we can fight in the UK. He thought that was going to be something that was going to be a snag."
The 50-year-old brawler recently lost a unanimous decision to Sergey Kovalev, but his famous ferociousness remains intact.
Froch goes into his next outing having beaten George Groves in consecutive title fights, and with time running out in his career, needs to pick his upcoming opponent wisely. A loss in England to Hopkins would likely end his dreams of appearing in Vegas, so it's interesting to see what kind of response the 37-year-old issues to Hopkins' trash-talk.
