New Chelsea Signing Juan Cuadrado Was a Massive Manchester United Fan as a Boy
Chelsea nabbed one of the biggest signings in the transfer window when they signed Colombian speedster Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.
Cuadrado will no doubt be excited at the prospect of playing in the league he followed as a boy, but it was not the Blues that he used to cheer.
The Mirror talked to his youth coach back in South America, Deninson Rivas, who revealed that Cuadrado used to love Manchester United and even played for a local team called Manchester as a teenager.

Rivas is quoted by the paper as saying:
"When he was with us he was a big fan of Manchester United.
At that time, around the year 2000, they had a fantastic team, they were the best team in the world and they were very popular in Colombia.
Playing for Manchester himself, it naturally was close to his heart. He dreamed of playing for them—maybe he still does!
"
Chelsea signed Cuadrado for a reported fee of £26.8 million, and the 26-year-old made his debut last Saturday after coming off the bench against Aston Villa.
