Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Steelers drafted Keisel in the seventh round of the 2002 draft and he's remained with the organization ever since. He's registered over 400 total tackles and 30 sacks in 156 career games. This past season was cut short due to a triceps injury.
Scott Brown of ESPN passed along comments from the battle-tested veteran last week. He admitted no final decision had been made about his future as he continued rehab.
"I've been preparing for when that day comes, and by 'that day' I mean the end," Keisel said. "But right now I'm under contract and I'm going to rehab and see (how) things turn out."
Whether the latest journey under the knife will have an impact on his decision one way or the other is unclear. But his deal runs one more year and he should have enough time to recover from both injuries before next season.
Keisel's production dropped off in his 13th season with just 17 tackles in 12 games. Getting back to full strength would give him a chance to bounce back in 2015.
It sounds like he's waiting to see how he feels after the rehab process is complete before making a final decision, though.
