Nikki Bella vs. Paige: Winner and Reaction from 2015 WWE Fastlane

Nikki Bella continued her dominance of the Divas division Sunday night at WWE Fastlane when she defeated Paige to retain the Divas Championship.

The Divas title has been around Nikki's waist since she defeated AJ Lee at Survivor Series with help from her twin sister, Brie. The Bella Twins have run rampant as heels over the past few months, but they have recently been met with resistance from Paige.

The British youngster is already a two-time Divas champion despite being just 22 years old and having been part of the main roster for less than a year. She has been driven by her hunger to take back the title, but she has had issues with the Bellas for other reasons as well.

Paige is the self-professed Anti-Diva in that she is cut from a different cloth than the typical Diva. Her unique look and attitude have endeared her to the WWE Universe, but she has also been ridiculed by more traditional Divas like the Bellas.

One of Paige's signatures is her pale skin, which is something that Nikki and Brie have singled out to make her feel as though she doesn't fit in with the other Divas.

Rather than folding and allowing the Bellas to get the best of her, Paige was defiant instead:

In fact, the Bellas' actions further fueled Paige and made her an even more formidable challenger entering Fastlane:

Despite the extra motivation Paige carried with her into the pay-per-view, she was unable to unseat Nikki to become Divas champion for a third time.

With that said, Paige and Nikki managed to put on a strong match, which showcased the improving state of the Divas division. It can be argued that there are few better female in-ring workers in the world than Paige right now, while Nikki has improved by leaps and bounds in that regard over the years.

More skilled Divas will be added to the mix in the immediate future as they get called up from NXT, as well. Perhaps the only thing holding the division back is a lack of commitment in terms of building lengthy and meaningful storylines.

In that same vein, it will be interesting to see how the title scene is booked between now and WrestleMania. Even though Paige lost at Fastlane, there is still a chance that she could be involved in some respect.

Regardless of who ultimately emerges as the top challenger, it is clear after Fastlane that Nikki is still the queen bee of the Divas division for now.
