Joseph Randle's Ex-Girlfriend Files for Protection from Abuse Order

After an incident at a Wichita, Kansas, hotel saw Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle cited for possession of marijuana, the 23-year-old's ex-girlfriend has filed a protection order against him.

Hearing Regarding Protection Order Postponed; NFL Investigators Interview Police

The Associated Press (via ESPN.com) reported that a hearing regarding the protection order filed against Randle has been postponed:

NFL investigators were in Wichita on the same day a hearing had been scheduled on a protection from abuse order sought against Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle.

But Thursday's civil hearing on the protection order was delayed until March 12.

Randle's Ex-Girlfriend Files Protection Order

Friday, Feb. 6 

Randle allegedly pulled out a gun in front of his son during a confrontation with ex-girlfriend Dalia Jacobs. The incident led her to file a protection from abuse order against him.

Lauren Seabrook of KWCH spoke with Jacobs, who states they were at a gathering in a Wichita hotel before things escalated outside. Although the gun involved was never fired, she claims he did break a car window during the disagreement:

Jacobs says Randle finally walked away while she got into the car. 'Joseph puts his gun up. He walks back to the car, he looks in it, and then he just punches it with his fist,' said Jacobs. 'Glass splatters everywhere. There's glass in my son's hair. It hit him, and that's when he starts crying.'

She put her son in the car and says she saw Randle pull out a gun. Jacobs says Randle waved the gun at them and threatened to shoot out the tires. She says she begged him to stop because her son was in the line of fire. 'I just couldn't imagine seeing my son get shot by his own father,' said Jacobs.

She says when they were at the hotel, she started to feel uncomfortable when Randle got aggressive and yelled at everyone to leave. Jacobs says she grabbed her child and went to the parking lot with another woman.

She also said a friend of Randle's took the gun and drove away before police arrived, which is why the weapon was never found. The running back was cited for a misdemeanor marijuana charge, but police told KWCH the investigation for domestic violence is ongoing.

Jacobs also explained to KWCH that seeking child support has created problems. "He needs to step up and also help me take care of the child we made together," she told the outlet.

The 2013 fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma State played all 16 games for the Cowboys this past season, averaging 6.7 yards per carry on 51 attempts with three touchdowns. 

Randle also made headlines last year over a shoplifting arrest.
