If you want to talk about the best ways to start off your NFL career, winning a free Porsche for being ridiculously fast ranks right near the top. According to ESPN, Adidas will be putting three Porsche 911 Carreras up for grabs at the NFL Scouting Combine for the three fastest participants in the 40-yard dash who sign with the company.

Three players will win Porsche 911 Carrera cars.

The offer comes from Adidas, which is promising the cars, worth about $83,000 each, to the three fastest players in the combine's 40-yard dash who sign with the company before they step up to the line. The cars are wrapped in a cheetah print that matches the company's new Uncaged adizero 5-star cleat. The ultralight shoe hits shelves Thursday.

2014 Prize from Adidas

This isn't the first combine promotion from Adidas, as the company is obviously doing everything in their power to grab some of the fastest and the best athletes in the draft. According to the same ESPN report, "Last year, Adidas gave away $100,000 to the fastest player at the combine who ran in the company's cleats."

For those who are curious, the lucky winner of last year's cash prize was first-round draft pick, Brandin Cooks. The speedy wide out was selected 20th overall in the 2014 draft, so it was really just a nice starting point for his four-year, $8.38 million contract.

Oh, and as you may have noticed in the quote above, the cars will go to the three players "who sign with the company before they step up to the line." Cooks is likely a large reason for this clause being thrown in, as he went on to sign a shoe deal with Nike after running a 4.3-second 40-yard dash.

It's tough to take a stab at who could win one of the three cars, especially since we don't know who will sign with Adidas. There are a few players who jump off the page in terms of their current 40-yard dash times, though.

Devin Smith from Ohio State is one player who can turn on the burners. According to NFLDraftScout.com, his 40-yard dash time is listed at 4.38 seconds. We saw Smith average more than 34.3 yards per catch in eight different games this season as well.

What about Sammie Coates? He was named as the biggest "freak" of 2014 by Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports. On top of that, Stu McCann from ABC3340.com reports that Auburn's strength coach Ryan Russell will vouch for that killer speed: "Auburn strength coach Ryan Russell says Coates runs the 40-yard dash in 4.25 seconds."

Phillip Dorsett from the Miami Hurricanes may be the man to beat, though. According to Susan Miller Degnan of The Miami Herald, Dorsett actually set a University of Miami all-time record for the 40-yard dash at 4.21 seconds.

This month, Dorsett set a University of Miami all-time best of 4.21 seconds in the 40-yard dash, bettering former Hurricane Sam Shields’ 4.26 record.

Both those times, said UM Canes strength and conditioning coach Andreu Swasey, were averages of a few stopwatches timing the players for each 40.

One stopwatch, Swasey said, had Dorsett running a 4.18.

It's all just fun and speculation at this point, but we'll find out who the fastest players in the 2015 NFL draft are soon enough. The combine kicks off on Feb. 17, so that's when the race for the Porsche begins.
