Tom Hanks Reunites with Wilson at New York Rangers Game

Fourteen years after their unceremonious parting, Tom Hanks and his blood-covered Cast Away colleague, Wilson, were reunited at Wednesday night’s New York Rangers game.

The duo sat near the ice, presumably catching up and complaining about the price of their kids’ college tuition.

It’s unclear if Hanks brought Wilson himself or if a Madison Square Garden employee rushed to the equipment room and box-cuttered their hand for the sake of a good joke.

I like to believe Hanks initially invited someone else but brought Wilson as a last-minute stand-in after his guest canceled.

This brings up an interesting thought: Tom Hanks is one of the few people anywhere who does not have to roll solo to anything. Thanks to Wilson, he never has to give up on a night when no one wants to go to the game.

All Hanks has to do is grab Wilson, tether him to his waist (firmly this time) and head to the stadium. The public eats it up, and Hanks doesn’t have to worry about going stag.

While we’re all forever alone, Hanks has a friend who will never mess with the thermostat or complain about going to the game—a priceless thing indeed.

Dan is on Twitter, wishing he had a volleyball friend.
