Mariners Could Make a Move For Cut Milwaukee Brewers 3B Bill Hall
Last night, I was able to watch my Seattle Mariners pull off a great win from some fancy dugout seats. I was also able to catch a foul ball and talk to player Franklin Gutierrez as well.
All that was fine and dandy, but I was also able to watch a great defensive game, and watch, probably for the last time in my life, Griffey end the game with a walk-off hit.
What a great night!

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
After I got home, I saw that Bill Hall had been DFA'ed, and that automatically rang a bell in my head because Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik was the man who drafted him while he was with Milwaukee.
Mariners fan's are all to familiar with the fact that current starting 3B Adrian Beltre's contract is up after 2009. He is not the 48 HR machine they coughed up 12.7 million per year to get, but he is still one of the game's elite 3B.
There were some rumors in July that Zduriencik was interested in trading for Hall, along with 2B Rickie Weeks, both whom he has admired since drafting them.
So why not go after him when he is cut for the prorated minimum of $400,000?
He is nothing more then a project, his offense is offensive (makes him perfect for the M's), only hitting .201 with 6 HR's and 24 RBI's. We know his defense is decent, but we can't even put it above Beltre's despite our loss of love for him.
With Beltre possibly leaving, this could be an answer if he steps it up a notch.
The Free Agent market is fairly bare at 3B, with Chone Figgins, and Troy Glaus being the top options. Both will likely stay with their contending clubs.
Mariners fans have seen Zduriencik turn scraps into gold this season, with guys like David Aardsma, Russell Branyan, and Franklin Gutierrez all having career years.
So why not give him a piece of something he hand picked himself?
It would be another low risk, high reward move, and who would they have to bump to make room for him? Mike Sweeney? Jack Hannahan?
After watching Sweeney tonight, the clubhouse leader deal can only work for so long; the guy needs to be DFA'ed himself.
If JJ Jardy gets cut, (demoted to AAA), he is someone they should definitely go after, one hell of a utility player/potential 3B.
There are affordable, potential filled options out there, we just have to go after them.
