TNA Impact Wrestling: Complete Preview, Rumors, News and More for February 6

Donald WoodFeb 5, 2015

Since joining Destination America, TNA has undergone major changes behind the scenes and in front of the camera, and they have resulted in a much cleaner and more entertaining product.

The action has been great since the switch to Friday nights, but this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling will be a free edition of the Lockdown pay-per-view. With every match contested inside the six sides of steel, wrestling fans can’t afford to miss this.

Friday’s card features Team Angle vs. The BDC in a Lethal Lockdown match, Bobby Roode taking on Eric Young, Awesome Kong and Havoc finally going to battle, the TNA Tag Team Championships on the line and so much more.

Here is all the vital viewing information for this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling.

Where: Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom, New York City

When: Friday, February 6

Start Time: 9 p.m. ET

Watch: Destination America

Lethal Lockdown

In the biggest match since the jump to Destination America, Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Austin Aries and Gunner) will square off against The Beat Down Clan (MVP, Samoa Joe, Low Ki and Kenny King) in a traditional Lethal Lockdown match.

The four-on-four battle will feature two men starting the match inside the cage, and the rest of the wrestlers in the bout will come out at two-minute intervals. No pinfall or submission will count until all combatants are in the ring.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Who is Team Angle’s Fourth Man?

On last week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, Angle persuaded Gunner to join his team with some tough love, and Aries threw his hat in the mix after being attacked by The Beat Down Clan. Angle also tried to recruit Lashley to join his team, but the champion refused.

With one open spot remaining on his team, there is no question that Angle will enter the match a man down. As the heels get the advantage throughout this bout, everyone will be waiting to see who the final entrant is. This is the perfect opportunity for Lashley to make a dramatic impact.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Full-On Face Turns

Lashley has been dancing the line of a face or a heel since TNA was still on Spike TV, but this is his chance to go full-blown face and save the day for the good guys. The fans prefer The Destroyer version of Lashley, and he should keep that mindset and fight for a good cause.

The Beat Down Clan has run roughshod over the Impact Wrestling roster since moving to Destination America, and it’s about time Angle, Aries, Gunner and hopefully Lashley take one back for the fan favorites.

The Stacked Lockdown Free-Per-View Card

The Lockdown PPV was one of my favorites each year, but TNA has decided to make this a free event that will air on Destination America. As one of the most brutal and violent shows of the year, hardcore and casual Impact Wrestling fans will be in for a treat.

One of the most anticipated matches is the result of the blood feud between Roode and Young. Despite being former best friends, Young turned on Roode during his championship match and cost him the title he holds so dear.

With the cage keeping Young from running away and keeping The Beat Down Clan out of the match, Roode will finally get his shot at revenge. While Young could be booked as a strong heel and win the match, Roode should be heading back to the title scene and must be victorious.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Awesome Kong vs. Havok Steal the Show?

It is hard to get excited about mainstream women’s wrestling today, but Friday will feature one of the most anticipated matches in recent memory when a returning Awesome Kong enters the cage against a former Knockouts champion, Havok.

Havoc has been causing destruction in the Knockouts division for months, laying waste to many of the top stars. Fortunately for the fans, Awesome Kong’s epic return to television showed she was coming after the former champion.

The resulting cage match should be one of the best women’s matches we see all year.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Jeff Hardy Spots

In another entertaining bout, Matt and Jeff Hardy will challenge The Revolution’s James Storm and Abyss for the TNA Tag Team Championships. Add in the steel cage stipulation, and there is no doubt Jeff will be part of a huge high-flying moment.

Impact Wrestling continues to push how The Hardys have never won the tag team championships, and Storm and Abyss have not been doing well lately. The hope is that Jeff and Matt finally get a chance to add the TNA tag titles to their resumes.
