2009 World Series Preview
The Odds on favorite for a 2009 World Series Match up will be the defending champs Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees. Other teams in the mix to become World Series Champs include the Boston Red Soxs, Los Angeles Angels in the American League. In the National League The Dodgers, Cards, and Cubs are under 15-1 to win the World Series. Lets Preview some of the possible match ups New York Yankees Vs. Philidelphia Phillies- The return of Pedro Martinez to the Bronx and the New Yankee Stadium. I can hear the bleachers now as Pedro comes out of the Bullpen to pitch to Jeter or Arod. “Still Your Daddy” chants would rock the stadium and blast into homes all across the country as Pedro has always be a lighting rod for Yankee fans. What fans could give the visiting team the most hard time with creative chants the Philly faithful or the Bronx Bleacher Boys? Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Dodgers- Manny Ramirez going back to Fenway after being exiled from Bean town in the three way trade between the Red Soxs, Dodgers, and Pirates last July. Are the Sox Ready to visit MANNYWOOD? Joe Torre and Terry Francona lock up one more time but this time its to see who wins the World Series. This would be a tag team showdown between Manny and Torre vs. Francona and Bay.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Yankees, Red Soxs, Angels, or Tigers- Albert Pujols and Tony Larussa vs anyone would be entertaining as Pujols is the arguably the best player in best baseball and the current face of MLB. He plays in a baseball town with a hall of fame skipper and in what we believe to be the post steroid era Albert in the King of it all. He was a great host for the 2009 all star game and for most of the year has put up Triple Crown Caliber numbers. Pujols is currently 22 points behind in batting average at 326 to Hanley Ramirez, tied for homeruns with 36 and leads in RBIs with 100 on his quest for the triple crown and a World Series Ring. Toronto Blue Jays Place Rios up for grabs to slash Payroll The Toronto Blue Jays are slashing and burning payroll and even could be giving Alex Rios he walking papers.
