Finally A Family Fantasy Football Web-Site

Mark MaroseAug 12, 2009

Hello Bleacher Nation! This is my first story that I am writing for the Bleacher Report so please be kind.

Being a huge sports fan, I tend to search out web-sites that I hope will benefit me in my knowledge of baseball and football.  Searching the web, I come across all kinds of web-sites that pontificated a plethora of knowledge and acumen, but in reality don’t do much more than rehash info already found elsewhere on the net.

This is not going to be a “bad” web-site bashing story, but a story about a fantasy sports web-site that is refreshing and unique.

When you find something that actually benefits people on the web, I think it should be shared with the masses.

The web-site is called FamilyFantasySports.com.  I was really intrigued by the idea behind it.  It’s free to play and they pay out $40,000 in prizes to families as college 529 plan deposits.

They also have private leagues that you pay an entry fee and play for your favorite charity.

Can you image playing Fantasy Football and winning money toward your child’s education?  How cool would that be?  You see, I’m a dad trying to put 2 girls through college and if any of you are doing the same or are trying to put yourself through college, you know how financially difficult it is.  I just wish the site was available 10 years ago.

I’m also growing tired of all the ‘adult content’ discussions on message boards and find it refreshing that someone has put care and thought into a web-site that encourages kids to get on and talk about football.

They have 2 different blogs, one for adults and one for kids.  In fact, they really do a great job of encouraging the entire family to get involved.

I’m lucky enough to have a family that enjoys sports, but I know some of you probably have family members that find football season a great time get out of the house and leave you alone until February.

This site gives you a chance to engage your family in one of the greatest discoveries for couch potato fans—Fantasy Football (and learn a little from it too).

Here is the web-site address for you to check it out.

www.familyfantasysports.com

Have a great Fantasy season and I hope your family can join you.
