Seahawks Fan Uses 'Madden' to Show Marshawn Lynch Could Have Won Super Bowl XLIX

Kyle NewportFeb 2, 2015

Seattle Seahawks fans will forever question the play call at the end of Super Bowl XLIX, but one fan took it upon himself to show how different the outcome could have been had the Seahawks just handed the ball off to running back Marshawn Lynch.

Facing a 2nd-and-goal from the New England Patriots' 1-yard line in the final minute of the game, the Seahawks opted to throw the football instead of feeding Beast Mode. New England cornerback Malcolm Butler intercepted quarterback Russell Wilson's pass, giving the Patriots the Super Bowl.

Seahawks fans will go to their graves saying the team would have won had Lynch just gotten the opportunity to run the football; all he needed was one yard in three attempts.

One fan recreated the situation by using Madden. He gave Lynch several attempts to run the football (from the 2-yard line). Here's how things turned out:

He even attempted a passing play, for whatever reason:

On eight of the 10 attempts, Lynch scored a touchdown.

There you have it: Had the Seahawks just given Lynch the football, they'd be celebrating their second consecutive Super Bowl championship.

The video game said so.
