Sadiq El Fitouri to Manchester United: Latest Transfer Details and Reaction
It may not be the big signing news Manchester United fans are desperate to hear but manager Louis van Gaal has dipped his toe into the January transfer window and bought young right-back Sadiq El Fitouri.
The club announced on its official website the 20-year-old signed an 18-month contract with United, arriving from Salford City.
Salford are the Northern Premier League semi-professional team owned by the Red Devils "Class of '92" contingent of Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, as well as billionaire businessman Peter Lim.

El Fitouri will join up with Warren Joyce's under-21 team at Carrington and is delighted to be making his dream move into LvG's extended squad, per ManUtd.com: "This is honestly a dream come true for me and I have to thank Salford City for the chance, as well as the faith they have shown in me. I am really looking forward to what happens next and to be given the opportunity to do so at Manchester United is unbelievable."
The full-back was born in Libya and has previously represented Manchester City before being released by the Premier League champions.

The young defender is said to have "[fallen] out of love with the game," as reported by Sean Gallagher of the Mail Online, after his experiences at the Sky Blues and took a hiatus from the game.
But El Fitouri returned to the sport at the end of last season with Salford and has not looked back since.
The player impressed during a match with United's fringe first-team players and under-21s, per Gallagher, and the Old Trafford club jumped at the chance to sign him up.
The move has excited United legend and Sky pundit Gary Neville, who has described El Fitouri's rise to prominence as an "incredible story":
El Fitouri is not likely to feature for United's first XI any time soon, but right-back has been a concern for the Red Devils this term, meaning an unlikely opportunity might be forthcoming.

LvG is desperate to add variation to his options, and the right-back gives him yet another choice in defence.
Rafael has failed to impress this term, suffering with a host of injuries and making the right-back position one of the most open at the club.
