Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Prop Bets Feature Marshawn Lynch

Will Marshawn Lynch be a dominant factor in Super Bowl XLIX, or will the Seattle Seahawks defense be the story for the second straight year?

Will the beastly running back carry the ball more than 20 times for more than 92 yards? Want to bet on it? Want to bet that he might perform another fine-inducing crotch grab as a touchdown celebration?

Super Bowl betting is more about the props than the game itself, and sportsbooks are offering hundreds of Seattle Seahawks prop bets ahead of Sunday’s game.

For the record, Lynch has topped 20.5 carries only seven times through 18 games and has topped 92.5 yards just six times, according to NFL.com. But he had 25 carries for 157 yards in the NFC Championship Game victory over Green Bay.

As of midweek, sportsbooks tracked by Odds Shark were posting an over/under of 12 points for Seattle for the first half, 23.5 points for the game and 2.5 for Seahawks touchdowns. So far in these playoffs, Seattle has scored eight touchdowns.

Also, those who think the Seahawks might pull off a repeat of last season, when they blew out Denver 43-8 to win their first Super Bowl title, could get a price of nearly 5-1 odds on an alternative Super Bowl spread of Seattle minus-14.5.

Last year's Super Bowl began in an unusual way, to say the least, when Denver's center-quarterback combination turned a shotgun snap into a safety. The odds that Seattle's first Super Bowl score this year will be a safety sit at 18-1 at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

The Seahawks player prop boards include an over/under of 27.5 on Russell Wilson pass attempts. In the NFC Championship Game two weeks ago, Wilson threw the ball 29 times, playing from behind against Green Bay.

Bettors could also find a price of 10-1 on the chance Wilson throws an interception on his first pass attempt and an over/under of 1.5 interceptions for the game. Wilson threw four picks against the Packers.

Bettors can also get 7-1 on the chance Wilson rushes for 100 yards. He did that three times during the regular season. His play is a key reason the Seahawks can cover the spread.

Books are also offering 3-1 on the chance Seattle tight end Luke Willson scores a touchdown this Sunday and 20-1 that he scores at least two touchdowns. Willson has scored only four touchdowns all season, but three have come in the last four games.

Books are also offering fairly short odds on the chance defensive back Richard Sherman records at least two interceptions this Sunday. Oddsmakers are nervous about Sherman, and this bet is less than 10-1 odds.

Of course, to do that, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots would have to throw at him at least a few times, but he might get his chances.

Finally, prop betters can get 4-1 on the chance Lynch grabs his crotch after scoring a touchdown Sunday—a maneuver that might result in a penalty for the Seahawks.
