Djokovic vs. Wawrinka: Score, Highlights from Australian Open 2015 Semifinal

Carol SchramJan 29, 2015

It will be Serbia vs. Scotland at the 2015 Australian Open Men's Final.

Top seed Novak Djokovic will join sixth seed Andy Murray thanks to a five-set victory over fourth seed Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland in the second men's semifinal on Friday at Melbourne Park.

Though Djokovic and Wawrinka continued their Australian Open trend of five-set matches, this year's edition was dogged with errors from both players.

Djokovic, who had lost just one service game in the entire tournament coming into the semifinal, was broken five times by Wawrinka, but also converted seven break point opportunities of his own.

After failing to hit a winner for the entire fourth set, it looked like the World No. 1 had run out of gas, but poor serving from Wawrinka allowed him to steamroll through the fifth set and give himself the chance for a record-setting fifth Australian Open title.

For his part, 2014 champion Wawrinka showed some fine hitting and killer instinct at times. In addition to poor serving late in the match, he was let down by a series of unforced errors throughout.

The match marked the first time all tournament that Djokovic had dropped a single set, but moves his all-time record against Wawrinka to 17-3.

The men's final goes Sunday at Rod Laver Arena.

Novak Djokovic (1) defeats Stanislav Wawrinka (4): 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0
