Puppy Bowl XI 2015: TV Start Time, Live Stream Schedule and Fantasy Draft Info

Adam WellsFeb 1, 2015

Sunday may be the biggest day of the NFL year thanks to the Super Bowl, but we all know the best thing happening Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. is the 11th annual Puppy Bowl!

The Puppy Bowl won't generate gonzo television ratings, but there's nothing cuter than watching puppies play football. It's also impossible for anyone watching puppies to get angry, which won't be the case in the NFL edition.

Interestingly, Animal Planet is creating further intrigue by letting you pick a fantasy team from the Puppy Bowl participants. That may give you a rooting interest, but I defy you to get angry at the baby Labrador mix scoring a touchdown. According to hollywoodtake.com, "Puppy Bowl 2015 will feature 55 different dogs, chosen from the 85 that made it onto the set. The pups come from 37 animal shelters around the country."

Fantasy Draft Info

Since no sporting event would be complete without a fantasy element, you can pick your own team of three puppies to win bragging rights over your friends. The process is simple: All you have to do is go to the fantasy game page, sign up using your email, Facebook or Twitter information and select three puppies to form your squad.

Puppies will be awarded five points for a scoring play (touchdowns and field goals), two points for takeaways and tackles, and a two-point deduction for turnovers. How does one score a touchdown? By dragging a chew toy across the end zone, of course!

If you are looking for advice from a seasoned expert, ESPN's Trey Wingo offered his analysis in the video embedded above. If that's not enough, Animal Planet provides scouting reports on Twitter. For instance, here's the analysis on Falcor:

Falcor has Marshawn Lynch's swagger, though it's concerning seeing the three dogs behind him not even trying to make a play on defense. It is just a practice session, so we can let things slide for now.

It's clear there's a lot of talent in this year's Puppy Bowl; just make sure you are getting the right dog on the right day, as they tend to run hot and cold.

Final Prediction

The fans who have voted on Animal Planet's website currently have Team Ruff listed as a 54-46 favorite over Team Fluff.

Just looking over the starting rosters, Team Fluff seems a little deeper. Keno has a slight frame, but she's sneaky quick and has the height advantage over most of these youngsters.

At 16 weeks old, Chicklet is the oldest player on the Fluff roster. She doesn't have the same first step off the snap as she did back in the day, yet no one is more precise or clean getting out of breaks. The veteran Aussie Shepherd mix will be the difference en route to winning MVP.
