Vitali Klitschko vs Chris Arreola Confirmed for Staples Center 9/26/09

From a press release I have just been informed that the Vitali Klitschko vs Chris Arreola fight is now confirmed for September 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

This is great news for the sport of boxing and it is definitely the most exciting match up that can be made in the heavyweight division.

Vitali Klitschko has a professional boxing record of 37Wins (36KO's) and just two defeats. The press release signafies that his two losses are due to injury and I have to agree for the most part. The only way Vitali can be defeated in my eyes is if he suffers an injury. A healthy injury free Vitali pounds his Dr. Iron Fist down on all.

Vitali will have his third fight at the world famous Lakers home. Both of his previous fights at Staples Center with Corrie Sanders and Lennox Lewis have been some of the most exciting all action packed fights to take place in the heavyweight division in the last 10 years.

Chris Arreola is undefeated with a record of 27 wins (24KO's) and zero losses. Arreola is Mexican-American and from the greater Los Angeles area which has a huge Mexican populated community. Arreola is young and in his prime and most of all hungry.

Both fighters are heavy handed knock out artists who prefer to end their fights early than to go the full 12 rounds. 

Vitali is the former WBO heavyweight champion and the current WBC heavyweight champion.

Should Arreola defeat Vitali he will make history as the first ever Mexican Heavyweight Champion of the world.

Many casual fans of the sport of boxing only care about these big fellas known as the heavyweights, but the problem is that the heavyweight division has been in quite a slump for the past several years.

However when you have a matchup with these two big powerful heavyweights who like to end their fights early it can only mean great things will happen that night come September 26.
