Irving Visiting Colts
Monday, March 16
"Free-agent LB Nate Irving is visiting the Colts today," reported ESPN's Josina Anderson, citing a source.
Irving didn't make a decision Monday, but the Colts visit "went well," per Anderson.
"Despite the ACL injury he suffered in early November, teams are showing interest in impending UFA Broncos #LB Nate Irving," Anderson reported on Feb. 22, citing a source.
Irving, whose previous career high in tackles was 41 in 2013, registered 46 tackles and one sack in eight games for the Denver Broncos in 2014.
He is sure to receive attention in free agency once some of the elite options are signed, though that could also mean the Broncos see the opportunity to bring him back on a reasonable deal. Irving could be a candidate to stay since he'll be less expensive than some of the other players on Denver's roster.
On the other hand, another team might note his development and overpay to wrestle him away from Denver. In other words, Irving should have options. Once free agency is underway, nothing makes a player more money than having options.
