Porcello Incites a Riot on Yawkey Way
What a wild night at Fenway! As the Sox and Tigers took the field, a young pitcher named Junichi Tazawa threw out his first inning by giving up 3. It wasn't entirely his fault...Pedroia bobbled the ball on a double play and Martinez couldn't make the double play the second time. Even though he gave up three, little did we know the fireworks were about to start. As Porcello took the mound and Youkilis got in his classic batting stance (which I personally think is funny), a wild pitch or intentional hit landed square between the shoulders of Youuuuuukkkkk. As he mumbled an obscenity (thank god I can read lips), he took off for the mound, throwing his helmet at Porcello and then tackling him to the ground. Of course the rest of the team had to take the field and as the bleachers and bullpens from both sides cleared, there was a small riot between the pitchers mound and 1st Base. Without even having to be told, Youk took off for the locker room and the 20 year old "tough guy" pitcher yelled at the umpire that threw him out on the way to the dugout. After the field clear and Lambert was brought in, the Sox had a serious spark lit under them and took care of the 3 - 0 deficit by adding three before the 1st out. As the game progressed, Jason Bay tried to steal 2nd and Terry Francona saw something he didn't like and went to take issue with the call with the youngest ump at the game. The ump obviously got his feelings hurt quick and with a head full of power, ejected Francona from the game.
So the big question is: Was the pitch to Youk intentional or just wild? As Dennis Eckersly said on NESN, we will probably never know. I for one think it was a bit intentional because you don't just throw the ball a little inside and hit a batter between the numbers.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Whether it was intentional or not, it did do one thing that hasn't been done in a few weeks and that is that it made the team come together and it looks as though it is giving the team a much needed spark. Lets hope so Nation, because we have very little time before the summer is over! Go Red Sox!
