Colbert Comments on Worilds' Status

Tuesday, Feb. 10

Brown passed along the latest information about his status, courtesy of Colbert:

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review added more:

Worilds finished the 2014 campaign with 59 tackles, 7.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and an interception. Solid numbers, but not the type of elite production a franchise would typically expect from a player earning nearly $10 million.

Dulac reported shortly after the Steelers were eliminated from the postseason that the linebacker's future was highly uncertain. He noted the sides had previously tried to work out a long-term deal but couldn't reach an agreement.

Now, after much speculation as to where the young pass-rusher would land, Worilds decided to stun everyone by pursuing a life away from professional football.
