Australian Open 2015 Schedule: Replay TV Coverage, Live Stream for Day 10 Draw

Tim DanielsJan 28, 2015

Day 10 at the 2015 Australian Open featured the conclusion of the quarterfinal round for both the men's and women's draws. Both top seeds, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams, were in action along with reigning men's champion Stan Wawrinka.

It's reached the point in the tournament where the margin for error is thin. Every player left standing is talented enough to take advantage of an off day by one of the top contenders. So it's always interesting to see who handles the pressure best with a Grand Slam title within reach.

Catching the Australian Open stateside can often be a tricky task given the time difference. That's especially true for the night matches in Melbourne, which start at 3 a.m. on the east coast. So let's check out all of the key details for the replay coverage along with a spoiler-free preview of the action.

Play opened with an intriguing clash between Venus Williams and fellow American, albeit one 15 years her junior, in Madison Keys. Reaching the quarterfinals was a positive sign for both players as Williams maintains her resurgence and Keys continues her rise.

The biggest question for the 19-year-old Illinois native was how she handled the spotlight. She had never advanced beyond the third round of a Grand Slam event before now. This stage of a major is different than anything she's faced on a tennis court before.

Ahead of the match, Christopher Clarey of The New York Times passed along Keys' comments about what Williams means to the sport:

"

I think Venus has helped the sport, especially the women's side, with equal prize money. She was a huge part of that. Just watching her is inspirational. She's had her health battles. She loves tennis. She's still out here, and she's doing it remarkably well. I think that's inspirational. However long I play, I hope I can be someone similar to that.

"

That was immediately followed by Venus' sister Serena taking on Dominika Cibulkova. The two women's winners on Wednesday are forced to come back on Thursday for the semifinals to set up the Saturday finale. So getting off the court as quickly as possible is key.

Williams had struggled with slow starts in each of the previous three rounds. She's always rebounded strong, however, losing just seven combined games in the second and third sets. Quicker starts are still a key point of focus, though.

Chris Goldsmith noted the one-sided results in the prior meetings between the pair:

On the men's side, the action began with Wawrinka looking to continue his repeat bid by knocking off Kei Nishikori. The latter reached the final of last year's US Open, including a win over Wawrinka, before being overwhelmed by Marin Cilic's power.

The Swiss star has seemingly found a comfort zone in Australia, though. He entered the match riding an 11-match winning streak at Melbourne Park dating back to last year's title run. The quick courts down under have played to his strengths.

In turn, The Tennis Nerds viewed it as a toss-up match:

Finally, the day wrapped up with Djokovic taking on powerful Canadian Milos Raonic. The top seed on the men's side was battling an illness before the event kicked off. It hasn't had an impact, though. He advanced to the quarterfinals without dropping a set.

Raonic has the game necessary to win multiple Grand Slam titles. He's just searching for his big breakthrough. Once that happens, he should remain a constant threat for many years to come. Upsetting a player like Djokovic will be crucial to making it happen.

The Australian Open noted the world No. 1 was complimentary of his quarterfinal foe:

One hour after the replay coverage concludes, the live action will resume in Australia with Day 11. It will feature both women's semifinals and the first men's semifinal. Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych are set to face off for a spot in the championship match.

Only four days of play remain in the Australian Open, the season's first major. Winning the title can open the door to a huge year for any of the players still alive in the draw. It all comes down to which ones can rise to the occasion with the pressure level sky-high.
