
Ex-Tottenham Man Gareth Bale Reveals He Was an Arsenal Fan as a Boy
Gareth Bale started his career at Southampton, made his name at Tottenham and now plays for Real Madrid.
However, Bale has revealed that his favourite team growing up was Arsenal.
The Welshman talked about a wide range of issues during an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena SER, with his ruling out a move to Manchester United sure to generate the most headlines.
However, his comments about Arsenal are sure to amuse some.
According to Ed Malyon of the Daily Mirror, he said, "I used to like Arsenal a lot. But when I moved to Tottenham of course I liked them less—but I really admired Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, those kind of players. They were incredible."
He's not the first man associated with Tottenham who seemed partial to the Gunners as a boy:
