Super Bowl 49 Follows Madden Prediction As Patriots Win

As the New England Patriots lifted the Lombardi Trophy after their Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks Sunday night, there was no doubt the game lived up to the hype built in Madden 15's prediction for the contest.
The popular game predicted a 28-24 New England victory, and the game finished with exactly that scoreline, including Seattle's 10-point third-quarter lead before the Patriots rallied to win the contest.

Hide your eyes, Seattle Seahawks fans. Madden 15 says the New England Patriots are about to break your hearts. Before you even go there, there is no ball pressure setting in the game.
Every year there are Madden simulations for the Super Bowl conducted by several entities, a few kids in that nice house at the end of the block, etc. However, there's also the one done annually by EA Sports, the developer and publisher of the iconic gridiron series.
Like any simulation, it's always good to see more than one result so that probability can be determined, so the others still have some validity. However, EA Sports' simulation is sure to have the latest roster updates with injuries and ratings fluctuations in effect.
With that said, the video above highlights the Patriots' 28-24 virtual Super Bowl triumph. New England's road to victory was not an easy one. The game featured an ending that would be one for the ages were it to happen in real life.
Seattle led 17-14 at halftime and by 10 points early in the third quarter. From that point on, Tom Brady had a stellar second half and the defense stiffened.
The Patriots scored the final 14 points of the game to march to victory. Brady connected with Rob for their second touchdown in the game to draw within three.
In the fourth quarter, still down three, Brady found wide receiver Julian Edelman on the sidelines in the last few seconds of the game. Edelman broke a tackle and outran safety Kam Chancellor to the end zone to score the game-winning touchdown.
It was enough to earn Brady MVP honors, as USA Today's Brett Molina points out. Molina also highlights this intriguing stat: "Overall, Madden simulations have netted an 8-3 record in predicting the Super Bowl winner."
fans likely felt their collective stomachs turn with the reading and viewing of this simulation, but hey, I'm just the messenger. Perhaps the actual game won't look anything like this.
However, if it does, EA Sports' tagline of, "if it's in the game, it's in the game," just got a whole lot more realistic.
