Manchester City Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of January 26

Rob PollardJan 26, 2015

With the January transfer window drawing to a close and Manchester City struggling for form, it's hardly a surprise that there is plenty of speculation around suggesting they may have one deal left in them.

Wilfried Bony has already arrived, and given the UEFA FFP sanctions which placed a limit on City's net spend for the season, it would hardly be a surprise if he was seen as the final addition.

However, there is plenty of speculation to the contrary, and the next week could be interesting.

Here's all the latest regarding comings and goings at the Etihad.

City in Pogba Hunt

1 of 3

According to Marc Williams of the Daily Star, City are still well in the race to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba should he leave the Turin club any time soon.

City will face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but a likely £75 million fee is unlikely to put City off.

The Citizens will be scouring the world over the coming months to try to find a potential replacement for Yaya Toure.

Toure, at 31, will need phasing out of the City side eventually, and Pogba is probably the only young player in Europe who looks capable of filling his shoes.

Inter Rule out Toure Move

2 of 3

Chris Burton of Here Is The City believes that Inter Milan are not interested in trying to lure Yaya Toure to the San Siro, despite reports.

Burton says Inter president Erick Thohir has hinted the Ivorian is not a target, citing his age as a stumbling block to any deal being struck while speaking to Sport Mediaset

Southampton May Gazump City in Bid to Sign Kongolo

3 of 3

Izzy Horsefield of the Daily Express believes City may well see their attempts to sign Feyenoord's Terence Kongolo fall into difficulty, with Southampton thought to be keen on signing the youngster.

His younger brother, Rodney, is already at City, but Southampton boss Ronald Koeman and officials at Chelsea are also keen and may look to outmuscle City.
