The Rock made his long-awaited return to WWE at the 2015 Royal Rumble on Sunday night.

The 10-time world champion appeared to make the save for Roman Reigns after Reigns was on the receiving end of a beatdown courtesy of Big Show and Kane. The Rock quickly helped to deposit the two out of the ring, and Reigns went on to win the Royal Rumble match:

Reigns and The Rock celebrated backstage:

Fist bump me! @TheRock @WWERomanReigns @WWENetwork #RoyalRumble #FamilyFirst http://t.co/yetPwTwd7u

The last time fans saw the People's Champion in a WWE ring, he was disposing of Rusev back on the Oct. 6, 2014 edition of Raw.

That appeared to be only a one-off appearance for The Rock, until he tipped his hand on the Saturday before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He tweeted that he was in Philadelphia, the site of the show:

Dwayne Johnson @TheRock

In town and always gotta stop by the neighborhood... #SouthPhilly http://t.co/izQ0stHKuu

WWE chairman Vince McMahon also seemed to indicate that The Rock was in the building before the PPV:

Vince McMahon @VinceMcMahon

All in the family. http://t.co/b9No4aPt2a

Now that The Rock's back, it will be interesting to see how the company uses one of its biggest superstarsif it does at all. He may simply be around to help Reigns connect with the crowd more, especially after the fans in Philadelphia savaged Reigns throughout the Rumble match.
