Can't Help It...I See Zoolander Whenever I See Kenny Florian

First off mad love and respect to Kenny Florian for being the more evolved, more complete fighter that he has now become. Florian has come a long way since the Ultimate Fighter Show.

He has gone 6-0 ever since then, stopping every single opponent except for Roger Huerta who is not exactly the easiest fighter to stop. 

Kenflo is an inspiration to us all and a good ambassador to the sport of MMA and the UFC.

Even though he lost and was dominated by BJ Penn last Saturday at UFC 101 he still is a great fighter for he lost to the greatest Lightweight champion in the game.

The point of this article is not to kick someone while they are down or to disrespect this fighter or his fans but one thing that kept bothering me was I always thought Florian looked a bit funny or just something was odd about him.

Even when he did his very infamous calling out of BJ Penn by screaming: "I want BJ's belt!" I always thought something was a bit funny about him. So finally after UFC 101 I had to really think to myself what is it about Florian that bothers me so much?

I thought about it long and hard and then a George Michael classic song came on the radio: it was Wake Me Up Before You Go Go the theme song to the film Zoolander—and then it finally hit me and all made sense.

The reason why I had such a hard time taking Kenny Florian seriously this whole time was cause he kept reminding me of Zoolander.

Florian and Zoolander look exactly the same. Florian even does those intense dramatic stares and that signature Zoolander pursed lip thing.

I think now I am even a bigger fan of Kenflo, for how can you put a price tag on seeing Zoolander do MMA? It no longer bothers me that Kenflo looks just like Zoolander, in fact I have fully embraced it and so should you.

Kenflo will bounce back from the Penn loss at UFC 101 and he will be raising his hands up soon. I will be the first to cheer on Kenflo in his comeback match and can not wait to see the spinning image of Zoolander in that octagon once again.
