Raw 8/10/09 "Calgary Slaughterhouse"

       Here we go we are live in Calgary the show opens with Orton and cena. they find out that Jericho and Big Show have matches with them later in the night.

         opening match    Gail Kim takes on Beth Phoenix Alicia fox and Kelly Kelly. some good moves coming from Alicia fox a sick back breaker move. Gail's jaw breaker is still a nice move but i miss her doing the regal cutter.

          Slaughter's new remix was pretty good, though i fear that by him getting a remix he may be used in the future. I guess its OK if he isn't hobbling around the ring pretending he can still go.  

       On to bigger things the all American American takes on Evan Bourne in their rubber match. It was a good match, though I still liked the femme fatale fourway better. nice post match bit putting mvp and swagger at odds.

         Eugene vs Calgary Kid was good match I was swerved; I thought Calgary kid just by how he was built would be lance storm, especially after Cole said he looked it up and all he got on him he was a hero from tv.

           Mark Henry and Hornswoggle vs Legacy was a good match too smart of Henry to tag in swaggle and get eliminated from the apron as DiBiase hits the million dollar dream to uranage.(I forget his name for it. ---DREAM STREET Ed.) Chavo must be proud with the ending to that match.

     Big Show vs Randy Orton was a bit odd. Why are they burying the champion with Big Show, I mean sure let Big Show earn a win but having Orton back down and get counted out didn't we see this same action from Cody Rhodes when he was supposed to face Mark Henry?

     Masters takes on MVP i liked this match. enjoyed the masterlock being countered to the playmaker though it took kind of long. rather more enjoyable was the masterlock then gutwrench is Chris Masters bound to be the all American American's goon?

      John Cena vs. Chris Jericho the bell is called but no one gets a decision as when orton enters the ring the bell is rung but the ref lets it pan out who will orton attack.

       Orton gives enough of a distraction that Jericho hits the code breaker. orton then strikes the unified tag team champion and is over staring him down as he walks around the ring the big show comes in and chokeslams the champ.

        Show ends we find out that next week Cena and Orton will go against the unified tag team champions.

   All through out the night they did the HHH goes to San Antonio to get back HBK. These segments were funny. Shawn as a chef about to crack under the pressure of bring your daughter to work day. Super kicking one guy and then the idea of him kicking that bratty girl who called him a monkey in an earlier segment, it was a bit cheesy but I laughed.

     Overall this show was probably a C+ at best.  built on some summer slam matches but still left others alone how does Jericho go from losing to jtg to facing a #1 contender for the top strap? So doesn't make sense. 

My Match of the night.- Gail Kim vs Kelly Kelly vs Alicia Fox vs Beth Phoenix: over all this match was the most fun tonight was scared Kelly would win it but in the end Gail got her jaw breaker off on Alicia for the win. and for that I commend the writing staff.

I seriously thought it would be another Kelly Kelly upset win over the glamazon. glamazon was going for a double body slam on Gail and Kelly but Alicia chop blocks her to make sure that doesn't happen good stuff. over all better than the divas tag matches in recent weeks.

Show grade: C+: Entertaining a bit but i like the celebrity guest hosts better than slaughter would not be surprised if WWE's ratings were down this week. I feel that alot may have had their itchy trigger fingers on the clicker. thanks for reading my inaugural review if I am not working I'll give you my thoughts on ECW tomorrow night. Ciao all.
