Senior Bowl 2015: Full Rosters, Predictions for Showcase's Top Rising Prospects

R. Cory SmithJan 23, 2015

The Senior Bowl is unlike any other event during the entire draft process. It allows a stage for some of the most experienced players from around the country to showcase their skills for NFL scouts.

Every player in attendance is hoping to see his stock skyrocket for the 2015 NFL draft. However, only a handful actually move up on boards, while others might be underwhelming against other top players.

Some of the most popular prospects moving up this season are at the wide receiver position. Due to the 2014 class that experienced immediate success, this year's crop is expected to provide similar results.

Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina

Every franchise wants a home run-hitting receiver like Mike Evans or Odell Beckham Jr. in this year's class. But it's the value picks like Jarvis Landry and Davante Adams that make general managers look brilliant.

This year's class presents several late-round players with talent, but Justin Hardy out of East Carolina has star power. A former walk-on with the Pirates, Hardy went on to set the all-time receptions record with 387 during his career.

Heading into the Senior Bowl, he still knows he has a lot to improve upon, per a Senior Bowl press release: "You can always be better at everything. Catching the ball, route-running, blocking, along those lines, anything to help my game."

One category where he has shined outside of his pass-catching ability is as a blocker, as Luke Easterling of Draft Breakdown and Bleacher Report notes:

Having his former ECU teammate, Shane Carden, in attendance also helps, but Hardy is standing out all on his own. After showing out in Montgomery, shining in the NFL Scouting Combine might propel him into first-round considerations.

Prediction: Hardy will be considered a fringe first-rounder.

La'el Collins, OT, LSU

Every year, the first round is littered with offensive tackles. Though it isn't a skill position, the running backs, wide receivers and tight ends wouldn't thrive without the quarterback being protected.

In this year's class, CBS Sports has seven tackles projected as either first-rounders or on the cusp. La'el Collins came into the Senior Bowl in the middle of that crop with the prototypical size and weight for the position.

Now, with scouts seeing him in person on the field, Collins is shining even brighter than he did at LSU. Matt Miller of Bleacher Report offered his take after seeing the former Tiger up close:

A massive talent with athletic traits scouts look for in a potential NFL left tackle, Collins has a bright future ahead of him. Thanks to his Senior Bowl showing, he might not have to worry about slipping outside of the first round if he shows up at the combine in the same shape.

Prediction: Collins will become a first-round lock following Saturday.

Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State

Remember that whole comment about the receiver crop taking center stage in Montgomery? Well, Devin Smith from the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes has put on a show during the Senior Bowl.

After showing out during the College Football Playoff, Smith has topped several lists during the practices. Jeff Svoboda of the Buckeye Sports Bulletin noted that Scout regularly has him as one of the best wideouts:

There is still plenty of time for Smith to go up or down on boards, but his offseason workouts so far have him as a potential third-rounder, according to CBS Sports. If he keeps up his notable play in the months to come, Smith should find himself moving up into the second round.

Prediction: Improves stock to second round with Senior Bowl performance.
