Sergei Bobrovsky Injury: Updates on Blue Jackets Goalie's Groin and Return

Sergei Bobrovsky left Columbus' Wednesday, Jan. 21 game with a groin injury. He did not appear in the 2015 All-Star game on Jan. 25 and was placed on injured reserve Jan. 26. The goalkeeper returned to practice on Feb. 18, and was activated off of IR on Feb. 28.

Bobrovsky has been announced as the starter for the team's game vs. Washington

Bobrovsky to Start vs. Capitals

Tuesday, March 3

Columbus announced that Bobrovsky will start in goal as the team takes on the Washington Capitals.

On Feb. 28, The Blue Jackets announced Bobrovsky had been activated off of injured reserve.

On Feb. 18, Dave Maetzold of Fox Sports reported that on the goaltender's return to practice:

He suffered a lower body injury during the second period of Wednesday’s game at Winnipeg. Currently, the club does not have a timetable for Bobrovsky’s return.

Bobrovsky Suffers Lower-Body Injury

Columbus Blue Jackets All-Star goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky exited the ice during Wednesday's road game against the Winnipeg Jets due to injury.

The team struggled with injuries early in the 2014-15 NHL season and has recovered well under the circumstances, but losing Bobrovsky is another dire setback.
