Minor League Baseball Team Hosting Deflategate Testicular Cancer Awareness Night
The controversy surrounding the NFL's Deflategate investigation has gotten out of control since the New England Patriots blew out the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and now a minor league baseball team has been inspired to make a difference in the wake of the incident.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the High-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, will be hosting a #DeflateCancer night on Wednesday, April 15, against the Salem Red Sox. The purpose of the night will be to promote testicular cancer awareness, and the Pelicans will be running a number of promotions during the event.
According to the official MiLB.com press release, the Pelicans will be giving out inflatable baseballs to the first 1,200 fans at the game, with 11 of every 12 fans getting a deflated ball. Here are some of the other things the team is doing for the night:

"When fans arrive at the ballpark, they will be greeted by a variety of ball-related promotions. Any fan who arrives in a vehicle with a Massachusetts license plate can request a complementary tire-pressure check from service technicians from Tire Town, who will also be on-site passing out free tire pressure gauges to fans.
The Pelicans staff will offer free ball inflation at Gate 1 to fans that bring deflated balls in need of inflation. If they wish to donate their deflated (but functional) balls (footballs, beach balls, basketball, volleyballs, and soccer balls), the Pelicans will donate them to the Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand.
"
While others are busy focusing on all of the negatives surrounding the NFL investigation, it's refreshing to see a team try to make something positive out of it.
