Pro Bowl Draft 2015: Twitter Reacts to Team Carter vs. Team Irvin Rosters

Tim KeeneyJan 21, 2015

The Pro Bowl teams are officially set.

On Tuesday, team captains Michael Irvin and Cris Carter drafted their player captain tandems, defensive tackles, guards, centers, fullbacks and various special teamers.

Irvin selected DeMarco Murray and Joe Haden as his captains, meaning Carter came away with the former Central Michigan teammates, as Tennessee head coach Butch Jones pointed out:

For the second year in a row, the No. 1 overall selection was used on Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, otherwise known to J.J. Watt as "the neckbeard with the arm."

Luck's interview brought out the quote of the night, intentional or not, via AZCentral.com's Kent Somers:

Irvin followed up with Tony Romo, as the Dallas legend continued to stockpile Cowboys. After taking Murray, Zack Martin and Travis Frederick on Tuesday, he added Romo, Tyron Smith and Jason Witten in the first eight rounds.

DallasCowboys.com's Nick Eatman summed up the not-at-all biased draft from Irvin:

What better way to counter that than to stack up on players from the team that knocked the 'Boys from the playoffs? That was the strategy from Watt, who took a bunch of Green Bay Packers and proceeded to take a photo for all of the fans from his home state:

Of course, while teammates being on the same side is nice and all, it's far more intriguing when they are pitted against each other.

Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton gets to catch passes from his quarterback, but he's going to have to find a way to get open against Vontae Davis, who has already begun the smack talk:

Hilton responded with a pun and a picture:

There will be plenty of these situations. Greg Olsen will have to cross the middle against Luke Kuechly, while the Eagles gave a look at their separated players:

The Pro Bowl has drawn plenty of criticism in the past for its lack of competitiveness. But the fantasy draft provided a major spark during last year's installment.

Judging by the players' excitement on Wednesday night in Glendale, Arizona, the 2015 version should continue to be an entertaining exhibition.
