NFL Draft 2015: 1st-Round Order and Top Prospects Contending for No. 1 Pick
With the exception of the two teams competing for the Super Bowl, the rest of the NFL has turned its attention to the NFL draft.
Although this year's draft doesn't take place until April 30, the entire offseason is filled with plenty of events from the Senior Bowl to the NFL Scouting Combine to pro days. If you aren't already reading scouting reports and mock drafts, you are behind as a fan.
Obviously, a lot can change in the coming months when it comes to where each player is rated. However, with most of the draft order set, it's never too early to speculate about the top pick.
Here is a look at the first-round order with a breakdown of the top options to go to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 1.

Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
It seems likely the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take a quarterback with this pick after passing on the position a year ago.
Mike Glennon and free-agent veteran Josh McCown were each given a chance to show what they can do under center, and they responded with a combined 75.2 quarterback rating and a 2-14 record.
If the Buccaneers do draft a quarterback, there will be plenty of questions about whether Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota is the top option at the position. While there are pros and cons for each Heisman Trophy winner, ESPN Insider Mel Kiper Jr. discusses Winston's football IQ as a reason he might be the top pick:
"While NFL teams will have major questions about Winston's makeup and his off-field issues, between the lines he shows the ability to anticipate, read defenses, get through his progressions, utilize fabulous pocket sense and footwork, and deliver the ball all over the field with pace. When teams ask Winston to digest schemes and concepts and show them things on the whiteboard, they're going to see a sharp football mind.
"
This is an interesting take considering Winston is the one with 18 interceptions this past season while Mariota only threw four all year to go with his 42 passing touchdowns. Still, a lot of that can be attributed to the offensive scheme each player competed in this past season.
Winston not only has the pure arm talent, but he is much more prepared to stepped into an NFL system and succeed immediately. This could be enough to put him over the top in this battle.
Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
One thing NFL scouts won't be overlooking when it comes to Mariota is his exceptional athleticism. He not only showed the ability to be an elite passer throughout his career, but he rushed for over 700 yards in each of the past three seasons thanks to some speed that's rarely ever seen at the position.
Add this to his outstanding accuracy and decision-making ability, and it seems obvious teams would love to have the Oregon player on their rosters.
However, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller explains how he has changed his opinion about the two top quarterbacks in recent weeks:
The Ducks consistently put the passer in great position to succeed with a spread offense and tons of quick passes and screens to the outside. No matter where he lands in the draft, he is not going to be able to rely almost exclusively on these types of plays.
Meanwhile, the speed of NFL defenders often causes even the best rushing quarterbacks to struggle once they get to the next level.
This is no reason to give up on Mariota as a prospect, and chances are he will be selected with one of the first two picks of the draft. Still, he is not the surefire No. 1 pick he might have been considered earlier in the year.
Leonard Williams, DT, USC

While the Buccaneers are in need of a quarterback, we have seen over the past two years teams willing to simply draft the best available with the top pick regardless of need.
The Kansas City Chiefs went with offensive lineman Eric Fisher in 2013 while Jadeveon Clowney was the top pick in 2014—neither of which were considered needs for the organizations.
This could leave the door open for Leonard Williams to find himself as the No. 1 selection in April as arguably the best overall prospect in the class.
College football Hall of Famer Lincoln Kennedy believes in the USC defensive tackle, telling Bryan Fischer of NFL.com:
"I think he's going to be a good one. The best thing about taking the next step is first getting acclimated to the speed of the game and then trying to define yourself. More times than not, it's a question of attitude, how bad do you want it? How bad is that desire? We in the media notice some of those guys are a man amongst boys based on who they're playing against and I think Leonard can be a good one.
"
NFL.com's Bucky Brooks also thinks Williams might end up being the best player in the 2015 draft:
Tampa Bay has one of the best players in the NFL at defensive tackle in Gerald McCoy, but doubling up with an elite player like Williams might lead to even more success on that side of the ball.
