Pro Football Talk revealed that Dalton was the seventh alternate for the open slot.
Dalton joins a quarterback roster that includes Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, Tony Romo, Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford—at least for now. At this stage of the process, a day seemingly doesn't go by without somebody pulling out of the game.
He led the Bengals to a 10-5-1 record and a playoff appearance. His numbers certainly don't place him among the game's best for 2014, though. He had just 19 passing touchdowns to go along with 17 interceptions during the regular season.
His Total QBR checked in at 55.2 (via ESPN.com). That ranked him 19th among 30 qualifying quarterbacks, yet he's going to the Pro Bowl anyway.
