New Age Outlaws vs. The Ascension Announced for 2015 Royal Rumble

The Ascension will be looking to add another Attitude Era tag team to their list of victims at the 2015 Royal Rumble.

WWE announced on Raw Monday night that the recent NXT call-ups will face the New Age Outlaws on Sunday:

The match was set in motion after The Ascension interrupted the nWo reunion during Raw:

This brought out JBL, Faarooq, Billy Gunn and the Road Dogg, all of whom took delight in eliminating The Ascension:

ESPN's Robert Flores commented that the tag team wasn't exactly made to look strong after the beating:

Konnor and Viktor have some experience when it comes to taking on former WWE tag champions. They decimated Too Cool at NXT Arrival last February.

It would seem somewhat obvious that The Ascension will get the better of the New Age Outlaws at the Royal Rumble. The young tag team would lose whatever momentum it had left in defeat, and it would be hard for anybody to take Konnor and Viktor seriously for quite a long time if they can't beat the Outlaws.

Beating Billy Gunn and Road Dogg, meanwhile, would help The Ascension gain some credibility with the fans who haven't been watching NXT for the last year and change.
