Senior Bowl 2015: Full Rosters and Top Prospects to Watch at Showcase
Last year, Derek Carr, Jordan Matthews and a host of others put on a show as the South took down the North at the Senior Bowl.
The 2015 iteration of the annual showcase, which takes place Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. ET, promises to be even better. This year's class touts even more first-round talent set to torch the competition before moving on to the professional level.
There will be potential first-round quarterbacks in attendance. Top-flight offensive tackles. Space-eating defensive tackles. Enough skill-position stars to make Chip Kelly blush.
Not all players impressed on Day 1, though, and Bleacher Report NFL Analysts Matt Miller and Matt Bowen shared a couple names that disappointed in their first practices:
A few days out from a critical part of the football calendar, be sure to brush up on the latest.

Top Prospects to Watch
Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor

Cardale Jones ruined the fun of many a fan last week with his decision to return to Ohio State.
In short, the third quarterback spot in the class behind Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota very much remains up for grabs.
While the conventional narrative seems to suggest that the slot will go to UCLA's Brett Hundley, the path toward Bryce Petty ruining those plans begins now.
The owner of 3,855 yards and 29 touchdowns to seven interceptions as a senior, Baylor's leader did not exactly end his collegiate career with a national title. Neither did Mariota or Winston, though, and the Midlothian, Texas, native in large part can thank the lack of a Big 12 title game as the reason he did not even get a chance.
As Bleacher Report's Matt Miller points out, Petty needs to show as soon as possible that he can succeed outside of Baylor's system:
After all, the NFL may be a tad gun-shy on Baylor products at the moment given Robert Griffin III's career trajectory.
Petty finds himself in a similar situation to Carr one year ago as a spread quarterback who can use the event to run a pro-style offense to great effect. If that happens, the sky is the limit.
Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska

Did you forget about Ameer Abdullah?
Many go on and on about Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley and others, but Abdullah's journey to become a household name begins right away.
Abdullah is a prototypical three-down back the NFL so desires these days. Last season alone, he ran for 1,611 yards and 19 scores on a 6.1-yards-per-carry average. He also added 22 catches for 269 yards and three scores.
Many will point out that Abdullah hurt his stock by going back to school for his senior year. It's a fair point, but only because the 2015 class is so deep from top to bottom.
The every-down skills are still present. He is a lock to put on a show at the Senior Bowl, possibly giving himself a massive stock boost in the process.
T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh

Pop quiz—name the top offensive tackle in the 2015 class.
Exactly.
Ask three different observers, and you'll get three different names. Iowa's Brandon Scherff. Stanford's Andrus Peat. LSU's La'el Collins.
Pittsburgh's T.J. Clemmings will enter the conversation for good thanks to the spotlight of the Senior Bowl.
Now, the Teaneck, New Jersey, native may not pull an Eric Fisher and use the spectacle as a launching pad to becoming the No. 1 overall pick, but his extreme athleticism will wake up a NFL that has yet to fully digest his switch to the tackle position.
CBSSports.com's Dane Brugler concurs:
The tackle class is rather weak this time out, but that leaves the window of opportunity wide open for Clemmings to make himself that must-have prospect in the eyes of NFL teams.
Expect Petty and Sean Mannion to have rather clean jerseys after four frames.
Danny Shelton, DT, Washington

Rarely do they make them like Danny Shelton.
At 6'2", 339 pounds, Shelton is an offensive line's worst nightmare. He can clog gaps and dictate where a back can run. Flushing the quarterback to the left or right and into the arms of his waiting defensive ends is another of his favorite pastimes.
It all helps to explain, then, why folks such as Miller have yet to find major holes in his game:
For Mike Mayock, a notable comparison says all, per CollegeFootball 24/7:
While Leonard Williams is the consensus top tackle this year, it is actually tough to compare the two, as both fit different skill and scheme classifications.
Shelton is impossible to miss on any field, even one at the Senior Bowl littered with future pros. Keep an eye on him to see how game-changing plays in the defensive trenches are done.
