
USMNT Watch: Jozy Altidore and Mix Diskerud Complete Moves to MLS
After weeks of rumors and speculation, United States men's national team stars Jozy Altidore and Mix Diskerud finally completed their moves to Major League Soccer this week.
Diskerud's move to MLS' New York City FC was officially announced on Tuesday, and Altidore's move to Toronto FC was officially announced on Friday.
Also in the news this week was a goal for Herculez Gomez, a major injury scare for U.S. goalkeeper Cody Cropper and an update on Sacha Kljestan's possible move to MLS.

Jozy Altidore officially ended his Sunderland nightmare this week, with Toronto FC officially announcing his transfer back to Major League Soccer on Friday.
Cody Cropper suffered a head injury on Monday in a youth match and is expected to be out of action for several weeks.
Geoff Cameron played the last four minutes of Stoke's 1-0 win over Leicester.
Brad Guzan was in net for Aston Villa's 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
DeAndre Yedlin did not make the 18 for Tottenham.

The Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 are still on winter break.
In the English Championship
Danny Williams started and went the distance as Reading lost 2-1 to Fulham. Emerson Hyndman was not in the squad for Fulham. He is currently on duty with the U.S. U-20's as they work to qualify for this summer's U-20 World Cup.

Eric Lichaj played 90 minutes at left-back in Nottingham Forest's 2-1 win over Derby.
Tim Ream played 90 minutes for Bolton as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1.
Jonathan Spector was not in the squad for Birmingham. Will Packwood is still out injured.
Duane Holmes was not in the squad for Huddersfield.
Oguchi Onyewu dressed but did not play for Charlton.
Elsewhere in Europe
Mix Diskerud officially completed his move to MLS and New York City FC this week.
Aron Johannsson played the last 14 minutes of AZ Alkmaar's 2-0 win over Dordrecht.
Rubio Rubin started and went the distance for Utrecht in their 2-1 loss to Heerenveen.
Sacha Kljestan played the last seven minutes of Anderlecht's 3-0 win over Lierse. For weeks, Kljestan has been rumored to be in the mix for a move back to MLS, but SB Nation's Austin Fido cited a report from Belgium that Anderlecht may try to hold on to the midfielder until their season ends this summer.
Alejandro Bedoya played 86 minutes of Nantes' 1-0 loss to Monaco.
Conor O’Brien and Wiener Neustadt are still on winter break.
South of the Border
Herculez Gomez came on at the half for Puebla and scored their lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Veracruz. His goal can be seen at the 0:46 mark of the video below (h/t socceroverthere.com). Michael Orozco went the distance for Puebla.
Greg Garza started and went the distance as Tijuana beat America 1-0. Joe Corona made the bench for Tijuana but did not play. Ventura Alvarado made the bench for America but also did not get into the match. The Xolos' Paul Arriola is on duty with the U.S. U-20's.
Edgar Castillo started and played 90 minutes in Atlas' 2-1 win over Morelia.
Jose Torres is out injured for Tigres; Omar Salgado did not make the bench for Tigres this weekend.
Alonso Hernandez did not make the squad for Monterrey.
