The talented Poland youth international only joined Legia last season but quickly established himself as one of the best up-and-coming players in the country, and a series of impressive performances caught the eye of Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

In dire need of a holding midfielder, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Bielik for weeks. A transfer always seemed likely, and on Thursday, Jan. 15, reports started to leak the two clubs had come to an agreement.

News of the youngster's medical broke, per Sky Sports:

Bielik commented via Legia's official website: "I'm going to London to fulfill my dreams. I hope I will become an Arsenal player soon."

He is expected to join Arsenal's senior squad upon completion of the transfer, but while the young midfielder has tremendous potential and should be an excellent signing with an eye on the future, he likely won't be playing significant minutes anytime soon.

The 17-year-old has fewer than 10 starts in Poland's top division under his belt and is as raw as they come. Bleacher Report UK's James McNicholas likes the move but warns more reinforcements have to arrive:

Regardless, Bielik will likely be given all the time in the world to adapt to the Premier League's pace and physicality, and it would be a major shock if he sees consistent playing time before his 19th birthday.

The teenager has the talent to be an excellent contributor at some point down the road, and for a minimal investment, the Gunners have bagged themselves a youngster who could be the answer to one of the club's biggest needs in just a couple of seasons.
