MLB.com's Mark Bowman reported the framework of the deal was done:

"

The #Braves & #Astros have completed the framework for the trade. Gattis and RHP James Hoyte go to HOU for the 3 aforementioned prospects.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports confirmed a report from Joel Sherman of the New York Post initially mentioning the potential trade.

Rosenthal explains what a physical for Gattis would indicate:

Bowman added more on the physical:

Rosenthal highlights how highly Michael Foltynewicz is viewed:

Gattis is entering his third MLB season and is coming off consecutive years with 20 home runs. He improved his batting average from .243 to .263 in 2014 and became Atlanta's full-time backstop as well.

Gattis played 48 games in left field as a rookie in 2013, so it certainly isn't foreign to him. With that said, El Oso Blanco is a below-average defensive outfielder.
