Milan Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of January 12
Suso is going to be an AC Milan player. The only question is when.
The 21-year-old Spaniard completed his medical in Italy on Sunday and later had dinner with CEO Adriano Galliani, according to Sky Sport Italia (h/t Football Italia).
"Do I have a message for the Milan fans? I am not here for long, then we’ll see when I am able to play," Suso said.
Milan could still find a way to take him in January for an additional fee, but right now it looks like they will wait until Suso's contract expires with Liverpool in the summer.
That completes the second deal of the winter window for Milan, but plenty of options remain.
Milan Pushing for Mattia Destro
1 of 3
The hottest rumour in Milan right now surrounds Mattia Destro, the 23-year-old striker who is out of favour at Roma.
Silvio Berlusconi seems to admire the player, and he has given Milan the green light to chase him, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football Italia).
The Rossoneri could secure Destro on a six-month loan deal at €1 million, per Sky Sport Italia (h/t Football Italia), with an option to buy him outright for a further €20 million in June.
Milan could also throw in Giampaolo Pazzini, whose own contract ends in the summer, as a counterweight.
Alternatively, they could swap Stephan El Shaarawy for Destro, according to Il Corriere dello Sport (h/t CalcioMercato.com).
Destro's agent told Sportitalia that all parties would discuss a possible move to Milan after the Rome derby, which featured Destro only as a substitute.

A few years ago, Milan made an inquiry about Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel.
Witsel ended up going to Benfica, who later sold him to Zenit St. Petersburg for €40 million.
According to SportMediaset (h/t Football Italia), Milan could now go back in for the 26-year-old, with the Rossoneri reportedly offering Zenit €3 million for an initial loan and a further €17 million in the summer.
Witsel has made 98 appearances for Zenit since joining the Russian club in 2012, scoring 13 goals.

Marco van Ginkel is headed back to London, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 22-year-old wants to end his loan spell with Milan, where he has made just two brief appearances.
"He knows I can’t assure him playing time," said coach Filippo Inzaghi.
Van Ginkel is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, which he suffered when teammate Sulley Muntari tackled him in training.
