Tom Brady Tells Ravens to 'Study the Rule Book' After Complaints About Formation
The New England Patriots broke out an unusual formation during Saturday's playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens, and Ravens coach John Harbaugh didn't like it.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady doesn't care.
On a drive in the third quarter, New England was able to use a tricky formation to its advantage. Instead of using five offensive linemen like teams typically do, the Patriots decided to change things up and use four offensive linemen with a skill-position player filling in as the fifth lineman.

That formation apparently fooled the Ravens because they couldn't stop the Patriots. ESPN NFL Nation's Mike Reiss noted just how well that formation worked for New England:
After the game, Harbaugh had some complaints about the formation.
"Nobody's ever seen that before," Harbaugh said, via The Associated Press, per USA Today. "It's not something anybody's ever done before. The league will look at that type of thing and I'm sure that they'll make some adjustments."
Brady didn't think too much of Baltimore's complaints.
"Maybe those guys (have) got to study the rule book and figure it out," Brady said. "We obviously knew what we were doing."
For the record, Reiss tweeted that the referees made it abundantly clear which players were eligible receivers before each play:
According to ESPN.com news services, an NFL spokesman told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that the formation was legal.
