The Calgary Flames announced on Friday that they swapped centers, moving Corban Knight to the Florida Panthers for Drew Shore.

Bob McKenzie of TSN reported that the two players won't be appearing for their new NHL teams just yet:

Shore added his thoughts on the trade, per the Flames' Twitter account:

The 23-year-old has spent the 2014-15 season with the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL. In 35 games with the team, he's scored nine goals and assisted on 21 more.

ESPN.com's Corey Pronman and The Trentonian's Mike Ashmore both think Shore is a nice pickup for Calgary:

Knight appeared in two games with the Flames this year, but he's also spent the majority of his time in the AHL, playing for Adirondack Flames. Knight recorded eight goals and four assists in 22 appearances.

The somewhat ironic aspect of the trade is that the Panthers originally drafted Knight back in 2009 but never reached a contract with him after he graduated from the University of North Dakota. Florida ultimately traded him to Calgary in June 2013.

Now, Knight's career has come full circle, and the Panthers finally got their man.
