Arsene Wenger and Arsenal Set to Punish Next Smoker by Youth-Team Training
Mark Patterson
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to punish the next player caught smoking on club duty by making them spend the rest of the season training with the reserves, according toย The Times.
The club has responded to a reported incident with Wojciech Szczesny apparently smoking in the dressing-room shower after Arsenal lost at Southampton. According toย The Timesย story, he has been fined ยฃ20,000 and a line has been drawn under the incident.
Wenger himself has been accused of letting disciplinary standards slip, as Stan Collymore touched on for Team Stream Now:
So the severe punishments would be a response to thatโalthough there was a time when Wenger himself smoked one in the dugout as a manager.
