Arsene Wenger and Arsenal Set to Punish Next Smoker by Youth-Team Training

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to punish the next player caught smoking on club duty by making them spend the rest of the season training with the reserves, according to The Times.

The club has responded to a reported incident with Wojciech Szczesny apparently smoking in the dressing-room shower after Arsenal lost at Southampton. According to The Times story, he has been fined £20,000 and a line has been drawn under the incident.

Wenger himself has been accused of letting disciplinary standards slip, as Stan Collymore touched on for Team Stream Now:

So the severe punishments would be a response to that—although there was a time when Wenger himself smoked one in the dugout as a manager.
