Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The comedian/producer went on The Howard Stern Show Wednesday and made a compelling case for why he'd be a decent enough NFL coach.
YouTube user Some Decent Audio (h/t For The Win's Nick Schwartz) curated David's segment for posterity. Discussion of his coaching abilities begins at the 1:13:23 mark when Stern and company ask about David's belief that he could save the New York Jets offense.
"I heard that you said that you could coach the Jets," Stern said. "You were being serious, right?"
Yes, he was serious.
"I think just with a little studying, I think I could be a tremendous offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator," David said. "I see many things that I know I could fix."
"Don't you think that would be a great [Curb Your Enthusiasm] season?" Stern asked. "Are you that much of a football fan?"
"I think I'm an average football fan, but I'm a big Jet fan," David said.
David added that he drew up schemes as a kid playing neighborhood football and also expressed his dislike for punting.
"I read this article where it says the odds are in your favor if you don't punt," David said. "But teams don't go for it enough, I think on fourth down. ... I'd be a fantastic coach."
The Jets are in the market, Larry. Get in line, and bring defensive coordinator Leon Black with you as a package deal.
