Adam Hoge of WGN provided more details on the arrest on Thursday morning:
TMZ reported the particulars of the incident:
"During the stop, the cop says he could smell booze on Tim's breath ... and wanted to perform field sobriety tests.
But according to the report, Jennings was ADAMANT he wasn't drunk -- telling the cop he had stopped drinking about 10 hours before the stop (2AM).
The cop asked Jennings if he had brushed his teeth or used mouthwash to cover up the scent -- and Jennings replied, "What kind of question is that?"
The officer shot back, "Sir, you can brush your teeth and still have the smell of alcohol on your breath, you know that."
The cop says Tim admitted to speeding and said he was running late for a parent/teacher conference for his 2-year-old child.

Jennings also apologized via Twitter:
"I do apologize for speeding, but DUI?? That's not me!! Sorry for speeding guys!

Jennings, 31, is a two-time Pro Bowler and a key cog in a Bears defense that struggled last season, ranking 30th in the NFL versus the pass.
No one on the team played more than Jennings in 2014, per ChicagoFootball.com's Kevin Fishbain:
The cornerback position is at least one bright spot on the roster. Between Jennings and the team's most recent first-round pick Kyle Fuller, Chicago should have a formidable CB tandem for the foreseeable future.
There is enough instability in the Windy City as is, though, with the Bears searching for a new head coach and general manager. This unfortunate off-field misstep by Jennings adds to the issues Chicago faces as it tries to bounce back from a disappointing 5-11 campaign.
