Rollins was understandably buoyant after getting the title shot:
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon didn't waste any time making their presence felt. The duo had originally been removed from power following Team Cena's win over Team Authority at Survivor Series. Last week, though, Rollins held Edge hostage until Cena relented and allowed The Authority to return.
This decision adds a little bit of intrigue to one of the few matches confirmed for the Rumble.
Since he's in ownership of the Money in the Bank briefcase, Rollins could lose the match but still walk out of the event with the championship. Justin LaBar of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review thinks that aspect could have a major impact on the title program for WrestleMania:
Rollins holding the World Heavyweight Championship opens up a few more scenarios in terms of opponents at WrestleMania 31. You're not going to see somebody like Dolph Ziggler or Dean Ambrose challenging Lesnar for the world title.
More importantly, Rollins holding his own with Cena and Lesnar will only help build him as a main event star whether he wins the title or not. It's important that Rollins has some momentum going into his cash-in or he'll end up like Jack Swagger or Damien Sandow—the MITB winners helped arguably the least after winning the briefcase.
