Even though Taylor hasn't played since December 7 against Cincinnati due to shoulder and forearm problems, his absence against the Ravens is a surprise. The veteran cornerback was listed as probable on the Steelers' official website and was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.
As noted by Jim Corbett of USA Today, this could mark the end of Taylor's tenure as a member of the Steelers organization at Heinz Field:
Without Taylor, the Steelers' thin secondary figures to be tested early and often against a Baltimore offense that can throw it down field with Steve Smith Sr. and Torrey Smith.
