Panthers' Brenton Bersin Slides into Punt, Cardinals Recover

Mental mistakes can hurt a football team, but they hurt even more during the NFL playoffs. The Carolina Panthers learned that the hard way Saturday.

Panthers punt returner Brenton Bersin was set to field an Arizona Cardinals punt, but when the punt came up short, Bersin decided for some reason to slide at the ball while throwing his hands up.

The Cardinals ended up recovering the muffed punt, then drove down the field for a touchdown to cut Carolina's lead to 10-7.
