Lupul Exits vs. Bruins with Lower-Body Injury
Wednesday, Dec. 31
According to Leafs PR on Twitter, the 31-year-old winger was forced to leave Toronto's contest against the Boston Bruins with a lower-body injury:
TSN's Jonas Siegel had more detail after the game:
Lupul has had a decent season to this point with 17 points in 25 games, but injuries continue to hold him back.
Per Arash Madani of Sportsnet, Lupul has been unable to stay off the injured list for the past several years:
This latest injury is another example of that, and losing him for any period of time severely damages the Leafs' forward depth.
They have enough talent in the form of Phil Kessel, James van Riemsdyk and others to step up, but the Maple Leafs are certainly hopeful that Lupul can return from injured reserve sooner rather than later.
