WWE Main Event Results: Winners, Twitter Reaction and Analysis from December 30
Welcome to Bleacher Report's recap of this week's Main Event. Here is where we take a look at what happened on the show, examining the winners, reactions to matches and any possible ramifications coming out of the program.
Monday's Raw may have been the big closer for 2014, but Main Event was technically the final show. It actually felt like WWE made the effort to make this episode special to close out the year the right way.
Not only did Edge and Christian return for another installment of their combined talk shows, but we got to see a match between two of the best the NXT women's division has to offer and a main event featuring the new tag team champions.

Let's take a look at what happened on the last Main Event of 2014.
The Cutting Edge Peep Show
Raw featured a segment with Edge and Christian that saw them get attacked by Big Show and Seth Rollins. Edge's head was held against the Money in the Bank briefcase with Rollins' foot hanging like a guillotine above.
They came out at the top of Main Event and talked about how they hired lawyers to make sure they were protected from any kind of attack.
They are running both Main Event and SmackDown this week, so we got a second episode of The Cutting Edge Peep Show. Their guest for the night was Adam Rose.
After some banter, Edge and Christian asked them to do a five-second pose. Rose got upset and left, but the Rosebuds stayed behind.
The leader of the Exotic Express got really pissed while his posse danced behind a pair of posing legends. It looks like Rose is now officially a solo act, but it's possible he will keep his followers around for a little while.
This was a decent opening segment. Giving Rose some time in the ring with two popular veterans might help him to advance beyond being a comedy character, but it's going to take some time.
Grade: B-
Notes and Highlights:
- I can't be the only one who laughed when one of the Rosebuds had Edge's puppet.
- There really has been a lot of "Expresses" in WWE. The Midnight, Rock 'n' Roll and U.S. were just a few of the "Express" names Edge and Christian dropped.

Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks
Two of the performers who have made the NXT women's division better than the main roster's appeared on Main Event to show the fans why they should be watching NXT each week.
Like their two previous encounters over the past couple of weeks, they brought everything they had to the ring. Sasha Banks played the heel to perfection, and Charlotte played a hero the crowd could get behind.
The most encouraging thing about this encounter was how well the crowd reacted. The Divas never get the kind of response two lesser-known women from the developmental system received.
The crowd chanted for Charlotte in the beginning, but by the end, fans were split between these two incredible talents.
Charlotte picked up the win with her finisher, Natural Selection. They could have really torn the house down with a little more time, but they pulled off a great match with what they had.
Winner: Charlotte
Grade: A
Notes and Highlights:
- Banks does Cameron's gimmick a thousand times better than Cameron.
- Take notice of these two. They are the future of the Divas division.
- Charlotte looks too much like her father. You can't look at her without seeing Ric Flair.

Justin Gabriel vs. Titus O'Neil
Titus O'Neil gave a little promo before the match about how 2015 would be the year of the Gator. He said gators don't bark, but they definitely bite.
Justin Gabriel got in a little bit of offense, but O'Neil quickly took control and dominated his smaller opponent.
The end came when O'Neil delivered a spinebuster to Gabriel while Gabriel was on the turnbuckle. Cole called the move Clash of the Titus.
It's too early to tell if O'Neil will be taken seriously, but a win is a step in the right direction.
Winner: Titus O'Neil
Grade: C+
Notes and Highlights:
- It seems like a lot of people are getting time for promos. Cesaro and Ryback both gave speeches on Raw, and now O'Neil gives one on Main Event.
- Gabriel should be given the kind of chance Tyson Kidd had in NXT. He has so much talent, but WWE jobs him out every chance it gets.
- O'Neil's finisher is pretty good.
Twitter Reaction
"That was a damn good little match. @TitusONeilWWE and @Justin__Gabriel just had. #MainEvent Titus is a STAR.

Gold and Stardust vs. The Usos
These four men have faced each other many times, but they always manage to put together something new and exciting every time they step in the ring.
The Usos picked up the win in the final match of 2014 after Stardust accidentally hit Goldust with a big kick off the top rope.
The same thing that happened to Gold and Stardust before Cody Rhodes' transformation is beginning to happen again. This is the third time in the past few weeks that they have been the architects of their own demise.
If they are working toward a breakup and eventual confrontation, it needs to happen at WrestleMania. They have both worked too hard not to see their efforts rewarded with a singles match at the biggest event of the year.
Winners: The Usos
Grade: A-
Notes and Highlights:
- Having Booker T on commentary for a Goldust match brings back some great memories from their time as a tag team.
- Stardust could be Harley Quinn's sidekick with his red, black and white attire. His personality actually makes them a good fit, too.
- It's a little surprising that WWE wouldn't book The Ascension on Main Event to give them more exposure after their Raw debut.
